This week in Kindergarten was full of learning, laughter, and exciting adventures!

We introduced the concept of vowels and learned that every word needs a vowel. The students had so much fun making words and sounding them out together. It was wonderful to see their confidence growing as they practiced reading and building words.

We also explored our online calendar and talked about some of the special days happening this month. The class was very excited to share their thoughts and connections.

One of our favorite activities this week was sight word tic tac toe. It was a HUGE hit! The students were so engaged and had a great time practicing their sight words while playing together. We will definitely be playing this game again soon.

In math, we have been exploring measurement and learning different ways to measure objects. We practiced using non standard tools like big cardboard blocks and little blocks to measure different items around the classroom. The students especially loved exploring length by measuring themselves while laying down on the floor.

The biggest excitement came when we explored height using foam poppers and exploding film canisters. The students called it “the best science experiment ever!” There were so many smiles, laughs, and excited cheers during this activity.

We had our Gr. 2 buddies visit us for some math tech time and had some free style art with water colours.

We also had our walking field trip to the library and Pirate Park. The kids were absolutely amazing and I was so proud of them! Ms. Laura at the library was so lovely, and we truly appreciated all the effort she put into our visit.

This trip helped prepare us for our first big bus trip to Sunnybrook Farm. I have to say, this was the highlight of my week! I am so very proud of the students’ behavior and kindness during the trip. They did wonderfully and represented our class so well.

Thank you for your continued support. We are having such a great time learning together!

Sincerely,

Ms. Kel-Cie
