We have had such a busy LAST MONTH of school that I haven't had the time to upload all the amazing photo's your Kinder kids, rest assured we have been having a great time finishing up our Kindergarten education and enjoying the beginnings of the summer months. This week in Kindergarten was full of learning, laughter, and exciting adventures! We introduced the concept of vowels and learned that every word needs a vowel. The students had so much fun making words and sounding them out together. It was wonderful to see their confidence growing as they practiced reading and building words. As it was Mother's Day Weekend, I took a little break myself and enjoyed my Sunday!. This week we continued to explore 3D shapes, reviewed our sight words, played Boom, Clap, Grab, had some time with our Grade 2 buddies, wrote in our journal, played outside for Gym, enjoyed the Library and had Music. The kids had a blast at the new Camping centre and have been catching fish, building fires, making smores, and enjoying their time in our dramatic play centre.

Another great week is in the books because our Kinders rocked it! The highlight this week was Pizza Day. We went through the steps of making a pizza and talked about our favorite toppings. Cheese was the big winner in both classes. The students got their hands busy grating cheese, spreading sauce, and stretching the dough. Valentine’s Week was filled with love and meaningful learning! We joined Ms. Yvonne’s class to explore the concept of Respect through the FNMI teachings. In these teachings, Respect is represented by the Buffalo (Bison). For a very long time, people relied on the buffalo for food, clothing, shelter, and art. We’ve had a great week exploring the new centres in our classroom! The Paint Studio has been a hit, and the students have been exploring colour mixing and using new mediums to express themselves. I brought in some Hex Bugs, and the excitement can hardly be contained as the students make obstacle courses, homes, and pathways for these little machines to climb through and vibrate along! We had a great start to our week as we made puffy paint melted snowman based off the book "Sneezy the Snowman." The students got to help make the puffy paint which is equal parts white glue and shaving cream. We had a blast mixing this together and then, because it was difficult to spread with a brush, we actually got to spread it around and make melted snowmen with our hands.
