We have had a truly fabulous week in class! We started off with a glow stick dance party for doing so well with our substitute teacher on Friday, we also took this opportunity to talk about what makes a good Kindergarten Leader. Ms. Brookelyn was our Star Student this week and we practiced writing her name. We explored the letters j, k, l, and m. We used our sense of sight to search for spooky details in a moving picture, played lots of Pop-Up Pirate and “Letter Perfection,” and worked on teamwork, socialization, and fine motor skills. The students rolled dice, practiced number recognition and counting, and even built a cup tower 56 cups high! We read many books together, and the students enjoyed exploring our classroom library and the new October books independently. Our “Creepy Café” also opened this week—after transforming from the Vet Centre—and has served up some delightfully gross creations such as “eyeball soup” and “tongue and earlobe salad.” It has been such a joyful, laughter-filled week!
